NSW Skilled Occupation List 2015 – 2016

NSW Trade & Investment has released its skilled occupations lists for Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 and Skilled Regional Sponsored Subclass 489 visas on 05 May 2016.

Starting from February 2015 NSW is introducing a selection-based invitation process in 2015-2016. Selection-based invitation process for the 190 program, prospective candidates can only apply for NSW nomination if they have been selected from SkillSelect and invited by NSW Trade & Investment.

Occupations Added

Following occupations have been added  or continued (were suspended since the first invitation round in July 2014) to the list for subclass 190 nomination :

  • Accountants
    • Accountant (General)
    • Management Accountant and Taxation Accountant.
  • Enrolled Nurses
  • IT Professionals
    • Analyst Programmer
    • Computer Network & Systems Engineer
    • Developer Programmer
    • ICT Business Analyst
    • Systems Analyst,
    • Software Engineer
    • Telecommunications Engineer
    • Telecommunications Network Engineer

There are other occupations that have also been added to the 489 4-year temporary visa  list.

Occupations Removed

It is not very obvious at this point why the following occupations have been removed from the list:

  • Architect
  • Audiologist
  • Chief Information Officer
  • Chemist
  • Financial Investment Adviser
  • Geologist
  • Insurance Broker
  • Orthoptist
  • Systems Administrator
  • Toolmaker
  • University Lecturer
  • Vehicle Painter
