Internship Programs in the USA and Australia

Having neared the completion of your academic career or having just completed it, do you spend sleepless nights wondering how you can stand out from the crowd and compete for that ideal job? Well, we at Student World can help you through Internship Programs in the USA and Australia. Take networking and the cultural experience to the next level and give your career a jump start.

What is the Internship Program?

Internship programs are designed to allow foreign college and university students or recent graduates to come to the United States or Australia to gain exposure to these cultures and to receive hands-on experience in U.S. and Australian business practices in their chosen occupational field. These positions may be paid or unpaid and allow the student to gain work experience in these countries for a period of 6 – 12 months, with the possibility of extending for an additional 6 months, at the discretion of the Employer.

Who is eligible for this Program?

Interns must be foreign nationals:

  • Who are at least 18 years old?
  • Can demonstrate sufficient English skills to function in an Internship Program
  • Looking to train in a field related to their academic or professional background
  • Who are currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at a foreign degree or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution outside the United States or Australia; or
  • Who have graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their exchange visitor program start date.

What are the benefits of this Program?

  • Practical Experience: The program bridges the gap between formal education and practical work experience
  • More Affordable: The cost of the Program is cheaper than one year’s college tuition in the US or Australia
  • Possibility of Cost being offset: With a paid internship, there is a possibility of recovering most of the cost of the Program as well as your living expenses in the US or Australia during the Program
  • Networking and Developing Contacts: You have the opportunity to develop contacts and possibly set yourself up for a job in the US or Australia in the future
  • Resume (C.V.) Embellishment: The experience of working in the US or Australia for 12-18 months will embellish your resume/C.V. and give you that extra edge when you return to your home country.
